Harmony 'Bob Kat' H14V c 1967 | HOLD | (v2501) The heartthrob of many teenyboppers in the mid-sixties, the Harmony Bob Kat! For about fifty bucks any kid could get 'that' sound! The venerable Harmony company sold millions of guitars to the '60s generation, and many survive today. This one, nearing its 75th year, remains in ex++ condition! The Bob Kat was introduced in 1967 as a continuation of the so-called Silhouette line. The H14 was the basic single pick up version, which was also available with a factory vibrato .. the H14V.
The body is solid wood, finished in a walnut sunburst. The neck is carved in a very comfortable 'C' shape. The fingerboard is ebonized wood and features an adjustable truss rod. The headstock features a Strat-like profile. The adjustable bridge is rosewood. The real jewel of the Silhouette series was the DeArmond gold-foil pickup which produced big sound for little money. The electronics feature a volume and tone control, as well as a tone switch.
The scale length measures 24 1/4". The neck measures 1 3/4" across at the nut.
The guitar shows little to no wear, with only a few nicks from age and wear. There is some chrome loss on the top surface of the whammy bar. The electronics function well. This example is in excellent ++ condition, including its original soft case and original spec sheet for the vibrato .. overall and nice vintage package!
Comes with its original soft case in the Bob Kat profile.
